Senate
The governing body of the University of Sydney is Senate, which awards all degrees and diplomas and oversees all major decisions concerning the conduct of the University, including senior staff appointments, student discipline, financial matters and the physical and academic development of the University.
Senate meets approximately once every six weeks, and is presided over by the Chancellor.
Academic Board
The major academic body of the University of Sydney is the Academic Board, which has responsibility for maintaining the University's high standards of teaching, scholarship and research and oversees and monitors the development of all academic activities at the University.
The Academic Board meets approximately once every six weeks, and is presided over by the Chair of the Academic Board.
Senior Executive Group
The principal management body of the University of Sydney is the Senior Executive Group (SEG), which has responsibility for planning and decision-making regarding matters of strategy, management, administration and related policy that need to be addressed at an institution-wide level.
