Soil & Crop Monitoring

Soil and crop attributes must be monitored at a fine-scale. When observations are tagged with a GPS location, they provide data on the spatial variability of the attributes within a field. Monitoring combinable grain, cotton, grape, tuber, peanut, cane and other horticultural and plantation crops while harvesting is now a reality at this scale.

Soil ECa can be measured on-the-go by commercially available instruments (Geonics  and Veris) as can soil pH. Other soil attributes and crop quality parameters will follow shortly and provide a great improvement in the use of SSCM.
