The study
site is located 25km north west of Narrabri on the Wee Waa road. The site
is situated on the grounds of the Australian Cotton Research Centre.

A
number of soil properties were assessed on this trip, in both
cultivated and pasture landuse regimes. The soil type that was
conducive to all methods tested is a Black Vertosol.
The
picture to the left shows part of the site that was studied. It
displays the boundary between the cultivated and pasture areas.
Seen
here is a site map of the total area that was analysed. Random measurements
were taken from the whole survey area as well as specific measurements
at site pegs. The position of site pegs are shown as P1 to P5 in
the pasture plot and C1 to C5 in the cultivate plot.
The
map was composed using GPS co-ordinates that were measured in the
field.
