Applying for access under the Freedom of Information Act

Anyone can apply to get University information under the NSW Freedom of Information Act (FOI Act). You must apply in writing and you must say you are applying under the FOI Act. You must also pay a small application fee. The University's FOI staff are available to provide advice on the operation of the Act in the University.

People wanting to make an FOI application should speak to the FOI officers before lodging their application.

It may not be necessary to make a formal application. Under its policies and through its web sites, many University documents are publicly available. The FOI officers can advise you.

Should a formal application be necessary these pages explain the processes established by the FOI Act.
