Training

RMS recognise that training in all aspects of recordkeeping is essential. RMS offer a free service which addresses the needs of individuals or business units within the University.

The RMS Training Officer provides training for individuals in the creation and maintenance of files using Records Online (ROL). This aims to demonstrate how to use these tools in a way which is most beneficial to users in their day-to-day work. This training is usually provided in the individual’s own work space.

Training can also be given in small groups of up to six people in the use of online recordkeeping tools. This is done in the RMS training room, with facilities for individuals to see how the systems work, while allowing practice using the online tools.

RMS aim to ensure that all Faculties and units in the University are trained. To this end, a training schedule has been developed and RMS will endeavour to meet all deadlines contained therein.

RMS also holds a presentation in conjunction with Learning Solutions' Orientation PLUS programme. Recordkeeping, privacy and FOI for University staff is held at regular intervals. Contact Learning Solutions for details of sessions.

ARMS have also developed an online training module. It is designed to give University staff a general understanding of the issues in a short ten minute session at your desk.

Please contact the ARMS Training Officer on ext. 13395 to discuss the training needs of individuals or groups.
