Risk registers
Audit and Risk Management is currently in the process of establishing a Risk Management Framework across the University.
The development of the Framework is seen as a key component in comprehensively identifying, assessing and managing risk.
Whilst the University has already identified and documented the organisation’s “Top 20 Risks”, it is important that the University also develop a risk management framework across the Faculty and PSU level of the organisation. This task will not only identify and document local risk but will ensure that there is a level of ownership and responsibility for managing that risk. It is envisaged that the ongoing management of local risk will also impact positively on the level of risk quantified in the University’s “Top 20 Risks”. The major outcome of the Risk Management Framework exercise will be the establishment of a Risk Register for each Faculty and PSU.
The success of the task will obviously be dependent on the co-operation, assistance and advice from Deans/Heads and staff in each Faculty and PSU.
