Closure of Vehicle Tracks Within the Declared Wollemi Wilderness
As of May this year, several roads within the declared Wollemi
Wilderness have been closed for conservation purposes. This will
restrict vehicular access to the wilderness boundary, however access
has not been restricted to bushwalkers and canyoners on foot.
The closures include:
Tracks on the Newnes Plateau:
Deanes Lookout north of the Galah Mt turnoff;
Deanes Siding Track;
Breakfast Creek canyon access track;
Waratah Ridge (Hole in the Wall canyon access);
Mt Budgary track.
Tracks north of Mt Tootie:
Bowen Hill firetrail;
D'arcy Range firetrail.
(Gates on these trails will be installed at the Mt Tootie/Itchinstoke
property boundayr adjoining the Wollemi NP, and the trails will be
retained for fire management purposes)
