Staff cards

On joining the University of Sydney, if you are eligible, you will be issued with a Staff Card which you should carry at all times when on University property.

Your staff card:

• Identifies you as a member of Sydney University staff
• Allows you to use all Sydney University library facilities, including borrowing books
• Gives you access to authorised secure buildings on campus

Use of your Staff Card as an ID Card

The University issues you with a Staff Card as a means of idenitification for University purposes. It is not designed to be an official identity document.

Am I eligible for a staff card?

At present, cards are issued to all full or part-time staff paid through the University payroll who are on continuing or fixed-term contracts.

A program is being implemented to introduce Staff Cards to all staff. Currently, however, if you are a contractor, casual or other staff member not on the University payroll, you won't receive a Staff Card. You will be issued a building access and library card as authorised by the head of your department.
