English Tests

Our assessment processes ensure your best possible opportunity for success. CET courses are designed to prepare you to sit a number of tests. The test you take will be your choice, and will usually depend on whether you wish to progress into degree studies or whether you wish to use your language for career purposes.

All CET students are assessed in each of the following areas:-

• writing
• speaking
• listening
• reading

Your overall assessment, if you are planning on further study, will include most of the following areas:-

• written assignments
• oral and written presentations
• class participation
• final exam

Assignments, essays or other written work are double-marked. Should an assignment or piece of written work be failed, it is marked a third time.
