Thank you for taking the time to view our website   and for considering Mandelbaum House as your     new home in Sydney.

We welcome all University of Sydney students to apply to our college and do not discriminate in the matter of gender, age, religion or nationality. We encourage applicants who would like to be involved in college life and activities.

Mandelbaum House does not have a cut-off date for 2008, but we do advise that you apply towards the end of 2007 as we have limited places to offer.

All applications are reviewed by the CEO, who interviews prospective residents before an offer is made. If feasible, applicants will be interviewed at the college; otherwise telephone interviews will be conducted.

Application Form
Mandelbaum House is part of the joint application form with other residential colleges at the University of Sydney. This can be emailed, faxed or posted to our office.

Referee Form

Applicants are required to contact two people who will serve as their referees. A referee may be a school principal, employer, teacher, religious leader and so on. Relatives and friends are not acceptable.

It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that referees' reports are returned.

Resident Fees
The following fees are applicable for 2008.

If you wish to make an application, you only need to pay the $50 application fee at this stage. This fee is non-refundable.

The following fees include accommodation, 18 meals per week, electricity & water, full linen, cleaning and use of all our facilities including- library, computer/printer, games room, lounge and kitchenette areas.

The security deposit/bond of $800.00 is required prior to the commencement of residence at the college to confirm your place and as a surety against any possible charges that may be incurred during residence. This will be refunded at the end of the year less any deductions. This amount is not refunded if the student withdraws from College for any reason before the end of the academic year.

In 2008, Mandelbaum House is offering five scholarships. Each scholarship is applicable for one academic year (two semesters). Students need to be accepted as a resident before their scholarship can be considered.

The Max and Sasha Freilich Scholarship: $3000
This scholarship is donated by Drs Herbert and Valmae Freilich in memory of their parents, Max and Sasha Freilich.

The Gidon Druery Scholarship: $3000
This scholarship is donated by the Mandelbaum Trust in memory of Mr Gidon Druery- the college's first CEO.

The Nate Zusman Scholarship: $3500

This scholarship was donated by and is in memory of Mr Nate Zusman.

The Charles Wolfson Family Trust Scholarship: $4000

Mandelbaum Trust
