In this lecture Professor Gao will examine famous modern Chinese author Zhou zuoren’s views on the role of short commentaries (Xiaopinwen), as well as his writing and physical resistance during the period of Japanese occupation. Professor Gao will also compare the difference between the essays (Zawen) of Zhou Zuoren with Lu Xun.
