Elections for membership of the University of Sydney
Alumni Council are held every four years. The term of the current Faculty-based*
membership is 2006-2009. Elections are conducted in accordance with the
Standing Committee of Convocation Standing Orders and the relevant sections
of the University of Sydney Act 1989, University of Sydney By-law
1999 and the University of Sydney (Amendment Act) Rule 1999. For the purposes of the election, the University of Sydney Alumni Council
is made up of elected representatives of faculties or boards of studies or colleges
or groups thereof as follows:
The next election will be held in November 2009 with nominations being
called for in August 2009.

The University of Sydney Alumni Council membership comprises 36 members elected
by graduates on a Faculty basis, 5 Fellows of Senate elected by and from the graduates
and 9 members of executives of alumni associations/chapters appointed by the Vice-Chancellor
on the recommendation of the President of the University of Sydney Alumni Council
and the Director of Alumni Relations. |
