This degree gives students a professional qualification to teach in a primary school and other contexts with children in years Kindergarten (K-6) (aged 5-12 years). The course covers all primary school subject or key learning areas (KLA's).
Students undertake generalist units in education and professional studies as well as units of study in the sciences, social sciences and humanities offered by the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Economics and Business. In the fouth year students can specialise in one of a number of year long electives including creative arts, special education, teaching english as a second language (TESOL) and Aboriginal Education.
Course completion requirements
192 credit points comprising 168 credit points in Education studies and 24 credit points from the Faculty of Arts; the Faculty of Science; or the Faculty of Economics and Business.
