It is possible to combine the Engineering degree with a degree in Medical Science. Many students take up the opportunity to add a second degree and double their qualifications in just one extra year.
This program combines the core elements of the engineering and medical science degrees and is designed for those students interested in spanning engineering and medical sciences in future endeavours.
Graduates will adapt to the changing needs of the profession as a result of multidisciplinary study. Their technology-based engineering skills will be complemented by skills in medical sciences. This program also forms an ideal base for postgraduate research in the biomedical field, or for vocational coursework programs such as graduate medicine or graduate dentistry.
Selection of the engineering degree is completed upon enrolment. Note that, although you may have achieved the UAI for the combined degree, students must still achieve the UAI for the stream of engineering they wish to take as part of the combination.
Engineering specialisations include:
- Aeronautical
- Space
- Mechanical
- Mechatronic
- Biomedical
- Chemical
- Civil
- Construction
- Environmental
- Geotechnical
- Structural
- Project Engineering and Management
- Electrical
- Power
- Computer
