It is possible to combine the Engineering degree with a degree in Science. Many students take up the opportunity to add a second degree and double their qualifications in just one extra year.

The combined Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Science is a well established and highly popular degree, and emphasises the strong scientific foundations of engineering. The Bachelor of Engineering degree emphasises practical aspects of science and technology, while the Bachelor of Science degree emphasises fundamental principles. Both expand scientific and/or technological career options.

Selection of the engineering degree is completed upon enrolment. Note that, although you may have achieved the UAI for the combined degree, students must still achieve the UAI for the stream of engineering they wish to take as part of the combination.

Engineering specialisations include:

The program allows for major study in two areas of science. Students take science subjects in each year of the course and complete both degrees in five years. Students major in a science subject from Year One to Year Three.

Science majors include:

  • mathematics
  • psychology
  • computer science
  • biochemistry
  • chemistry
  • geology
  • biology
  • physics.
