Unit of Study: PHTY5124 - Advanced Musculoskeletal Disorders A
This unit aims to integrate relevant knowledge from related sciences into manipulative physiotherapy practice. This unit will focus on the assessment, clinical diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal problems in the cervical and upper thoracic spines, and upper limbs. Specific emphasis is placed on manipulative physiotherapy but in the context of total patient management applied with emphasis on integrating research findings so as to achieve evidence based practice. Current clinical evidence for the role of therapeutic exercise is a focus in all areas.

Classes: On-campus, 4-6hrs/week during day
Assessment: 1500 word essay (40%), 2hr objective structured clinical exam (60%)
