This is a unique initiative of the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Centre for Developmental Disability Studies. The program was developed by, and is presented by a team of nationally and internationally recognised researchers and practitioners.
The Master of Health Science (Developmental Disability) is designed to provide the opportunity for practitioners from a range of medical, nursing, dental, allied health, social work, behavioural science, educational and other professions, to develop specialist skills underpinned by theory, scholarship and research in the field of developmental disabilities. The course equips students to contribute to multidisciplinary practice which is characterised by respect for individuals with a developmental disability, their families, advocates and communities.
Information for international students
This course does not meet the CRICOS requirements for obtaining an Australian student visa, however, international students can complete the course through a combination of online and distance modules from their home country.
Strict application closing dates for Semester 1, 2010
Please note that the closing date for domestic student applications for Semester 1 2010 will be 30 October 2009. Applications submitted after this date will not be accepted.
Course completion requirements
48 credit points: students are to complete as required the core, elective and general elective units of study shown in the Table of units of study for the award as set out in the Faculty of Health Sciences handbook.
