Proxy Enrolment

If you cannot attend your designated enrolment day, you can enrol by proxy. This is an alternative enrolment option that will enable you to secure your UAC offer at the University of Sydney.

Procedure

1. Choose a person who can act on your behalf on your enrolment day. This person could be a friend, a contemporary from school, a parent, a sibling or a relative.

2. Download and complete a proxy form. If you cannot download this form, a signed letter nominating and authorising another person to act on your behalf for your enrolment will suffice.

3. Prepare comprehensive and clear instructions to give your proxy regarding the requirements of your enrolment. These will include:

  • the specific course you wish to study and its corresponding UAC course code
  • your financial arrangements for your course. Further details are available on the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) webitsite Going to Uni
  • Units of Study (subjects) you wish to study (Faculty handbooks are available online or at the Student Centre [approximate cost $15-$20])
  • your current correspondence address details. The University will send you a Confirmation of Enrolment within one week of enrolment
  • if you are a permanent resident of Australia, you will need to provide the date permanent residency was granted
  • a method to pay tuition fees (if applicable). Fees can be paid by credit card (Mastercard, Diners, Amex or Visa), EFTPOS, cheque or money order. Cash payments cannot be made. Please note that tuition fees (if applicable) are due for payment on the day of enrolment
  • the time, date and location of your enrolment
  • the completed proxy form
  • any other information or documentation specific to the faculty's enrolment requirements and helpful to your proxy

Please make the enrolment experience of your proxy as easy as possible by providing her/him with this information.

4. Your proxy will return from the enrolment day with some enrolment paperwork outstanding that only you can finalise. You will need to attend the Student Centre as soon as possible to finalise these issues. Outstanding requirements may include:

  • completing and signing your Commonwealth Assistance form (if applicable)
  • collecting your student card
  • presenting any original documentary evidence as required by the University

5. Once you receive your Confirmation of Enrolment check that your enrolment details are as you wish, especially your Units of Study, your financial arrangements and your personal and contact details are correct. You can also do this online through your MyUni account.
