University search engine
The University uses a search engine called funnelback to provide search functionality across its web pages. This application is maintained by ICT.
Funnelback operates in a similar manner to Google. If you want your web page to perform well, you need to take care in the naming, navigation and copy that you chose to use. Read more about search engine optimisation.
Funnelback supports featured pages (see for instance "Image Bank" or "courses"). This allows you to place your page at the top of the search results for specific search term(s). If you feel that a specific web page merits a featured page listing, please contact the Web Editor to discuss this in the first instance.
It is also possible to restrict the scope of your search to a specific website (ie a Faculty site) or even to a specific folder within a site, where this will return more useful results to your users. Again, please contact the Web Editor to discuss this in the first instance.
