The University acts under State and Federal legislation relating to the provision of employment, education and the provision of goods and services to people with disabilities.

• The Disability Standards for Education (Commonwealth, 2005) clarify both the obligations on universities to provide accessible educational services to all students, and the rights and responsibilities of students.
• The AVCC Guidelines Relating to Students with a Disability (Australian Vice-Chancellors' Committee, May 2006) provide a framework for universities in providing accessible education to students with disabilities.
