How to Apply for Entry into the Bachelor of Science (Environmental)AdmissionAdmission into the BSc(Environmental) is competitive as there are a limited number of places (~50) available. So while a UAI of around 85 is required, the best students out of those that apply will receive invitations to enrol in Environmental Science. For information on how to apply, please contact the Undergraduate Adviser in the Faculty of Science, who can tell you which forms to fill in and who to send them to. Your application may need to go through the University Admissions Centre (UAC). Transferring into the BSc(Environmental)Students are permitted to transfer into the BSc(Environmental) from other degrees offered by the Faculty of Science, with the permission of the Dean of the Faculty of Science as advised by the Director for Environmental Science. In general, this requires a credit average performance at the tertiary level. Transfer from other degrees within the University of Sydney or from other Australian universities may require admission through the UAC. Please consult the Faculty of Science for further information.

How to Apply for Entry into Applied Science (Environmental Science) ProgramAdmissionAdmission into the articulated Applied Science coursework program in Environmental Science is not competitive and is available to all potential applicants who possess tertiary level qualifications or equivalent. Each of the awards can be taken full-time or part-time, is available to both local Australian and international applicants, and can be enrolled in mid-year. All three Applied Science options are full-fee paying. The Graduate Certificate simply requires a Bachelor degree or equivalent for admission, whereas both the Graduate Diploma and Masters degree require an undergraduate Science degree and good grades for direct entry. Progression into the Diploma and into the Masters is possible upon completion of the Certificate. Transfer into the Environmental Science program from other postgraduate coursework programs within the University of Sydney is allowed (and encouraged). FeesThe fees below are approximate only and change almost every year. For the accurate figures please contact the Faculty of Science. It may be possible to get a scholarship or other type of financial assistance to help offset the cost of study. In this regard international students should consult the International Office.
Note that International students should be enrolled full-time. This means you complete the Graduate Certificate in ONE semester, the Graduate Diploma in TWO semesters and the Masters in TWO or THREE semesters. The cost of the program depends on the number of semesters enrolled, however. Please contact the International Office for more information on this matter. Application FormsApplication forms for "new admission" and for "transfer" are available at the Faculty of Science office. If you are unsure of which level to apply for or are concerned that you might not have satisfied the requirements for the level of qualification you are interested in, please contact the Director for Environmental Science.
