Researchers
conducting studies involving Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander Communities must ensure that they are familiar with,
and that their protocol is in compliance with, the NHMRC
Guidelines on Ethical Matters in Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander Health Research
For
researchers undertaking health research involving Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander Communities an application must
be made to the Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council
(02 9698 1099) and must be approved prior to being submitted
to the University HREC. In all instances, protocols in this
area of research must be submitted with evidence of community
consultation and approval.
