Schools
The
Committee requires the following documentation:
- For
a single school site approval from the school principal.
- For
two or more school sites approval from the Department of Education
and Training.
For
research being undertaken in public schools researchers are advised
to consult the Department
of Education and Training "Guidelines for Approving
Applications from External Agencies to Conduct Research in NSW Government
Schools" (available from The Director of Strategic Research, NSW
Department of Education and Training, Level 6, 35 Bridge Street,
Sydney 2000, tel: 9561 8878).
Private/Independent
Schools
The
Committee requires the following documentation:
- Approval
from the school principal/s.
Catholic
Schools
Research
undertaken in Catholic schools must be approved by the Catholic
Education Office. Refer to the website http://www.ceo.syd.catholic.edu.au
In all instances of research undertaken at schools, the final decision
to participate in the study is up to the discretion of the school
principal.
All copies of approval from governing bodies and school principals
must be submitted to the Ethics Office prior to the recruitment
of participants.
Hospitals
For
research involving

at a hospital
- patients
at a hospital
- procedures
that are undertaken at a hospital
