How many litres, kilowatts and megajoules are used in your building or area?

Which buildings and departments have reduced their environmental impact?

What can you do to save water and energy in your office, workshop, laboratory, field or lecture room?

This site is your invitation to become an energy_water champion and make a difference.

"The successful promotion of utility saving within the university community is dependent upon staff and students alike understanding and responding to the environmental and financial impact associated with their building's utility usage. This level of interest is, in turn, reliant upon the availability of on-line, high quality utility information which is now readily available from the Utility Information System."

  • Become familiar with the range of features within the Utility Information System. Please note that the performance of the graphical interface is optimised by the use of a PC with Windows Operating System and Netscape Browser 3.0 (and above).
  • Bookmark and visit your university building's internet site/s on at least a monthly basis. Learn how to analyse your building's real-time electricity profile plus your building's monthly electricity, gas and water data. (Please note a small percentage of buildings are not, as yet, fitted with meters.)
  • If you are interested in undertaking a detailed study of your specific building, please request additional technical utility data or alternatively, consider a presentation by CIS covering the utility usage trends in your building.
  • Remember your ongoing interest and involvement is fundamental to the success of the energy_water Savings Program at the University.
