There is a 4-band fee structure which covers each course at the University. Some courses such as block-mode and research only degrees may be HECS exempt.
The estimated cost of courses in 2007 is between $3998 - $8333 each year, depending on the individual course and the subjects chosen within that course.
All students currently pay an annual Student Activities Fee at the time of enrolment. In 2007 the fees for new students were $590 for full time students and $482 for part time students. Students who were previously enrolled at the University paid less: full time students paid $481 and part time paid $373.
The Higher Education Contribution Scheme or HECS is a system where students who enrol in a Commonwealth supported place at the University, can choose to pay for their studies up front or through a HECS-HELP loan from the Commonwealth. This loan can then be repaid through the tax system when the student is working and earning approximately $35 000 a year. There is a 20% discount if you choose to pay your HECS up front.
