Life at Sydney

There's more to university life than just what happens in the lecture theatre or tutorial. There are hundreds of opportunities to get involved, through clubs and societies, sporting venues, or just by sitting in one of the Union's coffee shops chatting between lectures.

Did you know?

• Sydney Uni's Rugby Union team has been in the grand final of the Sydney Rugby Premiership for the past four years;
• The University has official relationships with the NSW Institute of Sport and the Sydney Swans;
• There are 150 clubs and societies and 50 sporting clubs to join;
• We have our own basketball team, the Sydney Uni Flames;
• Sixty-six bands entered the the Union band competition last year;
• Our student debaters regularly perform outstandingly in the World's Intervarsity debating competition, winning in 2001; and
• Up-and-coming student comedians perform to crowds of more than 200 every Thursday in Manning Bar.
