Bryan - Graduate Entry

My name is: Bryan Nguyen
I am studying: Bachelor of Laws (Graduate)
My specialisation is: There’s no specialisation as such, I am given electives from which I can choose what interests me. If I had to describe it you could say that I’ve chosen commercial/corporate law type electives (specialty).
I chose Grad Law because: I have always wanted to do law since I was a child growing up. I used to enjoy reading stories about Sherlock Holmes and so was interested in mysteries and crime solving.
Furthermore, I used to be a keen public speaker and involved in debating in primary school and high school. My passion for politics also had a big influence in my desire to do law.
I chose the Grad Law course because: frankly I was initially enrolled in the combined program, but following my honours year I took a break and decided to work in Canberra full time (where I transferred my studies down there) and move to part time study.
Upon returning to Sydney, I was fortunate enough to be accepted in the Grad Law degree :)
The one thing I couldn’t live without is: Stimulating conversation
My favourite colour is: Aqua
My favourite quote is: Even in our sleep / Pain which cannot forget / Falls drop by drop upon the heart / Until in our own innate despair / Against our will / Comes wisdom, through the awful grace of God. Bobby Kennedy (quoting Escalus)
The last book I read/movie I saw was:
Book: Way of the Superior Man by David Deida.
Movie: The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (I was forced to! :p)
I grew up: In Auburn, Sydney
When I was a kid I always wanted to be: Superman – or a president.
My career goal/s is/are: I’d love to work in politics in some capacity, as an advisor to a superstar MP or Minister. I’d love to be a fly on the wall at those ‘critical moments’ – I’d hope to be inspired. It’d better be like West Wing.
Why choose Sydney? The sandstone, reputation and location.
More about me: I am mercurial in disposition. That is, I tend to go to extremes. I can be outrageously blunt, and at other times ramblingly verbose.
I have a keen appreciation for wit and banter and express an enthusiasm/passion for things which at times can be infectious.
I enjoy talking an issue to death, breaking apart the nuts and bolts of things, and coming up with grandiose theories to attempt to explain the human condition.
