Costs
There are three types of honours places available at the University of Sydney: Commonwealth supported places; domestic fee-paying places; and International fee-paying places.
Commonwealth supported places
Most undergraduate students at the University of Sydney are Commonwealth supported. These students have most of the cost of their education paid by the government but must also contribute towards the cost themselves.
Domestic fee-paying places
Under certain circumstances, in some faculties, it is possible for a limited number of students to apply for a domestic fee-paying place. The Commonwealth does not contribute towards the cost of the education for fee-paying students, so the student has to pay more for a fee-paying place than for a Commonwealth supported place.
Usually, this will only apply if the student undertook their bachelors degree at the University of Sydney as a domestic fee-paying student. The faculty in which you are enrolling is responsible for these admission decisions so please contact your faculty for further information.
International fee-paying places
There are different tuition fees for International students. The honours year is normally charged at the same rate as the bachelors degree to which it is attached.
