Information and Communications Technology
Information & Communications Technology (ICT) is responsible for the development, implementation and support of technology-based services that support the core functions of the University. It operates under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer (CIO), who provides strategic leadership and coordination to the University’s information and communications technology resources.
ICT’s core services are devided into five categories:
- Academic services
- Faculty services
- Integration and information services
- Professional services, and
- Service management.
A brief description of each of these teams will soon be available from the main menu on the left.
If you would like to view a list of the services ICT provides, please visit the ICT Service Catalogue.
As well as providing ongoing services, ICT is also engaged with initiatives that contribute to the improvement of University operations. These include projects such as MyHRonline, the upgrade of the WebCT learning management system and state-of-the-art audiovisual resources in teaching spaces, the move to a single MS Exchange email system, and the establishment of an expanded, off-site data warehouse. ICT is also working in partnership with the Education portfolio to support the development of the Sydney Student program, which will deliver a central system for all student administration needs and enable features as online enrolment.
