Information and Communications Technology

Information & Communications (ICT) provide efficient and effective technology and ICT services to support the core functions of the University.

ICT have completed the development and implementation of a number of technology based initiatives in recent years that have made an important contribution to improving University operations. These include MyHRonline, the upgrade of the WebCT learning management system and state-of-the-art audiovisual resources in teaching spaces, the move to a single email system, MS Exchange, and the establishment of an expanded, off-site data warehouse.

Working in partnership with the Education portfolio, ICT is currently supporting the development of the Sydney Student program that will deliver a central system for all student administration needs, enabling such features as online enrolment.

Major initiatives for 2009 include:

  • Increasing academic and community focus
  • Implementating shared services
  • Remedying infrastructure, and
  • Improving ICT organisational capability
