Goals

Information and Communications Technology (ICT) will assist the University to achieve its strategic objectives and increase ability to respond to technology innovation and return on technology investment.

ICT Strategy 2008 – 2010

The following benefits are expected from the University's 2008 – 2010 ICT strategy:

  • Increase academic and community focus.
    • Align all projects and solutions to University strategic directions.
    • Stakeholders will own projects, process change and benefits realisation.
    • Consolidate to University-wide, industry-standard solutions.

  • Implement a shared services model.
    • Encompass all ICT support in a University-wide framework.
    • Move common ICT support functions to a shared, centrally coordinated group.
    • Free ICT capacity for pro-active, value-add activities.

  • Remedy infrastructure.
    • Renew our aged networks and data centres.
    • Refurbish significant parts of infrastructure beyond design capacity and life.
    • Introduce regular, phased replacement for all infrastructure.

  • Improve organisational capability.
    • Increase agility, improve operational efficiency.
    • Reduce our overheads and time to deliver projects.
    • Enhance processes and organisation.
