University Accommodation
Most residential colleges/housing of the University of Sydney provide some form of network access to their residents. The administrative staff of your residence should be able to provide setup information and requirements for you. Most connections will require a network card and will use your UniKey account for authentication and payment. Set up the proxy settings in your browser using the proxy settings guide
A number of University residences are setup to be on the University's protected network which blocks all traffic external to the University. Students are able to browse by using the University Proxy servers but most instant messaging programs (and anything else that relies on a direct connection to an external server) will not work. Students may use the University VPN server to enable these direct connections.
