Printing and Scanning

How do I print at an ICT Access Lab?
To print from an ICT Access Lab computer you must have money on your UniKey account.
Using the program you wish to print from, click the print icon, or go to the file menu and select print. Your job will be placed in the print queue of the default printer in your lab. You can check the queue for your lab by going here.

When your job reaches the top of the queue, and if you have enough credit on your account, your job will print. If you do not have enough money on your UniKey account, your job will be deleted and will not print.

Can I use my photocopy card to print at an ICT Access Lab?
Money on your photocopy card is for library computers only – ICT Access Lab computers do not accept it.
You can only use funds from your UniKey account to print.

How much does it cost?
Printing to an A4 black and white printer charges 10 cents per side. This means if you print double sided you will be charged 20 cents per sheet of paper.

Printing to an A4 colour printer will charge 50 cents per side. Currently there are only A4 colour printers at Fisher, Cumberland and Law Access Labs.

Can I print double-sided?
Yes, all ICT Access Lab printers are able to print double-sided. To enable this feature:

  • Click on the "File" menu, then select "Print".
  • This will open a dialog box where you can select a printer. First choose the printer you want, and then click on the "Properties" button.
  • Another dialog box will open with multiple tabs along the top. Select the “Finishing” tab and then tick the box for "Print on both sides".

Can I print with more than one page per sheet?
Yes, all ICT Access Lab printers can print more than one page to a sheet. To enable this function, follow the steps outlined above, but instead of checking the "print on both sides" box, select the number of sheets you want to print from the drop down menu below it.
