Class
David Goodman (U Syd) and Beatriz Carrillo (UTS) are organising a regular academic seminar on Class to start in Second Semester 2009.
The idea is to provide a forum for discussion of ideas about and related to the concept of class. Its genesis is the organisers’ current preoccupation with class in China which they would like to try and locate intellectually in a wider context.
The seminar will meet at 5.00 pm in the Institute of Social Sciences, Rm 310,Old Teachers’ College, University of Sydney on the following Wednesdays:
26 August
23 September
21 October
25 November
In general the program will be based around a reading group, with occasional external speakers and invited lectures. A program for this year is currently in preparation and will be circulated when available. For the moment the organisers are asking those interested to register their participation. The seminar will be limited to 20 seats, as this is the capacity of the meeting room of the Institute of Social Sciences.
If you are interested to participate, please contact Zoe Morrison at
