Teaching

The Institute monitors developments in programs of teaching and learning across the social sciences at the University of Sydney.

The Institute is also committed to undertaking a review of coursework teaching and learning in the social sciences. The timing of this review will be determined by various factors, including demand from Faculties for new approaches to teaching and learning in the social sciences. It will organise exploratory activities at an early stage.

In conjunction with the development of the project to provide Social Science PhD support, the Institute will also undertake a review in 2009-2010 of the need for and provision of preparatory courses, particularly on research methodology, for social science research students; as well as of supervisory arrangements for research students in the social sciences.
