Residential Accommodation

International House is a residential facility owned and operated by The University of Sydney. It provides 144 single rooms and 14 twin share rooms with shared bathroom facilities. There are 6 additional single rooms which have ensuite bathrooms and 2 single rooms which have a bathroom containing hand basin and toilet. All rooms are catered with 21 meals per week. There are 15 fully self-contained apartments for students with families or for those students who prefer to cater for themselves. Rooms and apartments are fully furnished. Data outlets are also available in rooms and apartments. There is a limited number of guest rooms for short-term visitors.
Although our student residential agreements run from the beginning of each academic semester until the end of the semester (see dates below), all students but particularly new students are encouraged to arrive one week early to participate in orientation week and to familiarize themselves with the University and their surroundings before the semester begins.
Casual Accommodation During the Academic Year & Recess
From time to time, usually December, January, February and July each year, International House offers short term accommodation suitable for single or groups. Accommodation bookings are for a minimum of two nights. Confirmed bookings must be paid in full by credit card prior to arrival and non-refundable for no show, cancellation or leaving early once payment is made. As a guide, in 2006 single rooms with shared bathrooms and breakfast, lunch and dinner are $85 per night (includes GST) subject to availability or $65 for students.
