Camden campus housing and conference facilities

If you are planning to attend the University of Sydney’s Camden campus or one of the nearby colleges, schools or universities or planning to hold a meeting, conference or training session, we have the facilities to meet your needs. Whether you require a self contained lodge or college style accommodation or wish to feed and accommodate conference delegates your needs can be comfortably catered for on the Camden campus.

Accommodation

The Camden campus is located in picturesque rural settings surrounded by grassland, dams, creeks and agricultural land. Accommodation varies from cosy student rooms to self contained accommodation suitable for families or individuals.

Nepean Hall

We have one double story residential building which has 42 cosy rooms, each with a single bed, builtin robe and study area with heating, telephone and IT socket for computer access to the internet. Each floor has 2 bathrooms, entertain-ment and lounge area. The undercover walkway joins the dormitories to the kitchens, dining and recreational rooms.

Nepean Lodge

Situated on campus close to the library, gym and tennis courts, Nepean Lodge is a modern complex of self contained and furnished units. Choose from 2,3 or 6 bedroom units. Suitable for families or share accommodation.

Camden library

Located on the campus between Nepean Lodge and Nepean Hall, the Camden Library caters for most of the needs of resident students. A branch of the Fischer Library, it has excellent research facilities and assistants.

Daily meal catering

Resident students are well looked after with regular meals prepared daily in the dining room situated adjacent to the residential buildings. Special menus may be catered for by arrangement.

Adjoining the dining room is a large, well resourced lounge and recreation area. In addition to the waterside BBQ area we have another BBQ in the courtyard outside the dining room with picnic tables on the lawn surrounded by beautiful gardens.

BBQ area and dam

Only a couple of minutes walk from Nepean Hall and Lodges, this beautiful recreation area is just the thing for relaxing with friends. Situated on the dam foreshore, the BBQ and picnic area has parking, undercover seating with tables and large grassed area for other recreation.

Conference facilities

Whether you are attending a lecture as a student or delegate, or conducting a conference, the campus lecture facilities are comfortable, resourceful and extensive. Our experienced staff can help you ensure that your program objectives are professionally met in an enjoyable and pleasant atmosphere.

Lecture theatres

The Liz Kernohan Conference Centre is a new, 250 seat lecture theatre with state of the art equipment and facilities.

The General Teaching Complex comprises of three air conditioned theatres. The largest can accommodate 120 people.

Video conference facilities are available. A microwave link to Sydney campus can link worldwide. Also available: audiovisual facilities such as video, PA, video screens, overheads and computer projection screens etc.

Special event catering

Catering for your function can be organised through one of our local catering services.

Sport and recreation

Residents may make use of these recreational facilities provided for your entertainment.

Gymnasium

The equipment in our gymnasium is available for our staff and students. Aerobic classes are scheduled each semester according to interest.

The football oval

The oval is currently used by the faculties and staff for regular scheduled games.

Tennis and billiards

Feeling a little competitive?. There is a single tennis court right next to the dormitories and gymnasium.

Or perhaps you would rather stay indoors and try your hand at billiards or pool on this full size table. There is also a dart board in this games room.

Walking tracks

The connecting roadways of the campus' 215 hectares of rural pasture land and flowing hills, along with the rural country roads surrounding the campus are ideal for jogging, walking or cycling.
