VETERINARY PUBLIC HEALTH MANAGEMENT PROGRAM WINS A CARRICK CITATION!
iTEV are proud to announce that the Veterinary Public Health Management Program (VPHMgt) has won a Carrick Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning. The VPHMgt Program was one of iTEVs first joint ventures in The University. For more information on the project please go here
The Carrick Awards for Australian University Teaching are highly competitive and involve an intensive selection process to assess the achievements of applicants.
Citations for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning recognise and reward the diverse contributions that individuals and teams make to the quality of student learning. The 'Carrick Citations' are granted to people who have made a significant contribution to the quality of student learning in a specific area of responsibility over a sustained period, whether they are academic staff, general staff, sessional staff or institutional associates. People who are awarded Carrick Citations are widely recognised for their achievements within the nominating institution and have received strong institutional endorsement. Nominations for Citations are made during Semester One and the winners are announced in the press during June or July.
Our very heartiest congratulations to: Hannah Forsyth, Jenny-Ann Toribio, Richard Whittington and Meg Vost
iTEV & FACULTY OF ENGINEERING INDUSTRY ADVISORY WORKSHOP
iTEV and The Faculty of Engineering recently held an Industry Advisory Workshop to find out just what industry was looking for in the field of postgraduate studies. The event was held over 4hours in the Main Common Room of The Women's College at The University of Sydney.
Over 36 people attended the event representing a wide range of industry and engineering professional bodies as well as members of The University community including two final year Engineering students from The Women's College.
This initiative was part of the first phase of the iTEV/Faculty of Engineering engagement.
SURVEY OF CONTINUING AND PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY
iTEV have recently conducted a first-glance survey of all continuing and professional education courses offered outside of the Centre for Continuing Education at The University of Sydney. All in all we have identified some 195 separate courses taught over 24 different Departments/Schools and Research Centres.
SURVEY OF FLEXIBLE LEARNING COURSES AND UNITS OF STUDY
One of the key aspects to iTEVs work has been the promotion of technology to enable different modes of delivery for University of Sydney courses. The aim has been to enhance The University's ability to deliver high-quality courses in a flexible learning environment through the use of on-line, traditional distance or mixed (face-to-face, on-line and distance) modes of delivery.
Over the years The University has developed some outstanding examples of the ways in which courses can be delivered flexibly to a wide-range of students both locally and internationally. The Faculty of Medicine has, for example, developed their own stand alone Learning Management System (LMS) which is currently being used as the platform for other University's flexible delivery of on-line courses. At the moment we are trying to capture as much data about these courses as we can.
