Where can I refer a student for help with personal, financial, accomodation or other difficulties?

The Services for Students website provides information regarding the wide range of student support services available at the University, including contact details.

How do I get help in managing a student at risk or a student with serious behavioural problems?

The Head Counselling Service (ext. 12228) or the Head International Student Support Unit (ext. 14749) may be contacted to discuss concerns regarding a student or to seek urgent assistance for a student in crisis for local and international students respectively. Counselling and ISSU staff are located on the Camperdown/Dralington campus and on the Cumberland Campus. Other campuses are provided with assistance from Camperdown/Darlington based staff as required.

If an emergency occurs outside normal office hours, please call the Security Service on ext. 13487 or, for an acute emergency only, their emergency number ext. 13333.

Learning assistance services are provided by the University to give students the best possible outcomes in terms of intellectual development and career outcomes. Refer to the Learning Assistance Services website for information about the academic support available at the University.
