Student Evaluation

The University of Sydney sees student learning as a partnership between the student, the teacher and the University (its infrastructure, services and processes). Our goal is to enable each individual to develop and to enjoy university life at all levels by delivering the highest quality formal education in a research-intensive comprehensive environment which values and encourages extra-curricular experiences and opportunities.

The University evaluates the student experience through a series of surveys. The findings from these surveys inform our assessment of where we are succeeding and where we have opportunities for improvement.

The University evaluates the student experience by:

• The Student Course Experience Questionnaire (SCEQ)
• The Student Research Experience Questionnaire (SREQ)
• Unit of Study Evaluation

The University also participates in national evaluation of the student experience through:

• Course Experience Questionnaire (CEQ)
• Graduate Destination Survey (GDS)

Reports based on analysis of the quantitative and qualitative data from the CEQ and the SCEQ provide evidence of the success of University and Faculty initiatives to improve the overall student experience in general and the student experience of learning and teaching in particular.
