Session 5.5: In the mix: what goes where, when, how and why
Lambert, Karen
In our multiple roles as educators, assessors and (soon to be) colleagues of students perhaps one of our most challenging and difficult tasks is determining the why, what, where, when and how questions about the strategic use of outcomes; assessment, marking and reporting; learning and teaching strategies; and Graduate Student Attributes.
In this poster display I explore the ‘which comes first’ question around the constructive alignment of units of study which reflect external professional requirements and Graduate Student Attributes in vigorous and authentic ways. I conclude that like the chicken and egg analogy, rules around this mix are sometimes necessarily unclear, ‘messy’, and are highly contingent and contextual.
In the poster display I share one of my approaches to unit of study planning and preparation with a particular focus on assessment requirements. I do this via a brief description of how I have constructively aligned a Fourth Year Human Movement unit of study Professional Experience 3 to reflect Graduate Student Attributes, external professional requirements, and authentic assessment and reporting practices.
