Session 3.0: From Content to Capacity-building: What challenges for assessment?
McWilliam, E.
A key shift in the nature and purpose of teaching in higher education has been the shift from content delivery to capacity building. One important aspect of this shift is the imperative to direct our assessment practices towards evaluating the development of a much broader range of graduate attributes than disciplinary knowledge acquisition, reproduction and dissemination. This seminar explores the nature of the work involved in designing assessment practices for this broader purpose. It addresses the what, when and how of developing assessment practices that are responsive to the challenge of graduate capacity-building in post-millennial times.
