Message from the Director

This site gives you an outline of our programs for 2009. As you will see there is a different emphasis from the past. I believe the role of Learning Solutions is to focus on the University’s strategic objectives and to support the faculties and units in building the capabilities of their staff. To this end we are focussing on programs in leadership and management, community engagement (media) and early career research as well as our traditional but updated programs in PM&D, Orientation and Administrative skills.

Learning Solutions is a very different organisation from the old Staff Development Unit. We are no longer a traditional provider of training. Instead we will be designing and brokering programs and helping you to undertake the changes needed to increase your personal capacity and the effectiveness of your organisational unit. Learning Solutions now consists of five Learning Advisors, two Program Coordinators and two Administrative Assistants in addition to the Director.

All of us will be focussing on working with you to achieve the vision of 1:5:40.
