Writing the academic book: from proposal to publication

This short practical course looks at the process of academic publishing from the proposal to publication, launch and review processes. In addition to advice on selecting the right publisher for your work, you will gain a practical understanding of how to develop a proposal that will interest a publisher and introduce a wide audience to your research. By the end of the day you will have a draft book proposal that can be sent to the publisher that is right for your work.
The second part of the course examines the writing process. Using project management techniques the course will strengthen your capacity to write and deliver your book on deadline and using many of the resources you have already developed in your academic career. The course will also provide strategies for the promotion of your book to the widest possible audience.
