Making the most of your PM&D review
The course delivers an overview of the PM&D process and covers the skills to develop an individual performance plan (including an opportunity for participants to write or review objectives for their own PM&D). Participants will learn how to set objectives in a way that both clarifies their manager’s expectations and makes clear how they can meet and exceed those expectations. Participants will also set development goals that link to those objectives.
By the end of the program participants will feel confident to:
- Accurately complete all the steps in the PM&D process
- Set objectives and Key Performance Indicators
- Prepare for and participate in an effective PM&D review meeting with their manager
The course focus is on the creation of PM&D plans that have objectives and performance indicators that are specific, measurable, appropriate, relevant and timeframed. Participants will have the opportunity to share with and learn from the performance management experience of others in the group in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
Participants are encouraged to bring along their current PM&D and/or unit plans as this will make the course exercises more relevant.
Target Audience
The course is open to all staff but is particularly suitable for staff who are preparing a performance plan, who are coming up to a PM&D review or who are new to the University.
