STUDYING IN EXTERNAL MODE

The main method of tuition for external students are the two Weekend Schools offered each semester. Students enrolling as external students should do so on the understanding that, although the Weekend Schools are not compulsory, it is expected that students are able to attend at least these classes during the semester. If students are unable to attend either Lectures or the Weekend Schools, they enrol on the understanding that they may be at a disadvantage to those students who are able to attend.

Studying in external mode should not, however, be confused with what may be generally understood as correspondence or distance learning. The Committee is unable to provide a comprehensive distance or correspondence teaching program. All students have access to supplementary materials.

Students who reside outside the Sydney Metropolitan area receive certain special borrowing privileges and other services from the University of Sydney Law Library (see the Law Library website. Examinations are scheduled in NSW regional centres for external students - (see the Legal Profession Admission Board for details). External students can keep in touch and discuss their studies with fellow students through the Forums for each subject.
