Welcome. If you're looking for a broad interdisciplinary program, you're in the right place. If you hurry, you can still enrol for Semester 1 (applications are accepted up until the end of February, but your early application assists with planning).
Liberal Studies is designed for people who are interested in a wide range of subjects and, perhaps, a better work-life balance.
You'll find information here about the Liberal Studies degrees, with links to the course database with units available across the entire University (see Units of Study).
The program considers the sciences, society and culture through a range of disciplines - history, languages, media studies, literature, sociology, philosophy, law, art history, religious studies, etc.
Students come from many different backgrounds - teachers, librarians, business people, lawyers, engineers, architects, and many are retirees. With working adults in mind, the part-time program holds many evening classes and offers a flexible academic schedule. If you have retired an even wider range of opportunities is available in day classes.
In the beginning, you may elect to enrol in the graduate certificate over two years. The commitment to the master's program is more significant but whatever you choose, the rewards are substantial - the intellectual stimulation, the opportunity to interact with fellow learners and the chance to consider and prepare for a PhD or other doctoral degree.
You may commence your degee program in either Semester 1 or Semester 2. Please contact Professor Gordon for assistance in choosing appropriate units of study. Application forms are available from the Faculty Office.
