Medical Humanities and Medical Education

Graduate Medical Program – the USydMP

Medical Humanities is usually regarded as a central and enriching component of medical training.

All medical students are always welcome in all events and classes run by Medical Humanities. Medical students may choose to take one of our units of study as their Option (and to sit in on others if they wish). Medicine and Music and Medicine and War have proved especially popular with medical students.

Medical Humanities also contributes the medical humanities resources and components of the problem-based learning curriculum in the USydMP.

Medical Humanities can support extra curricular activities for medical students. Interested students should contact the Program Coordinator, Dr Claire Hooker.

Continuing Medical Education (CME)

Medical Humanities offers health care professionals the opportunity for professional development and continuing education in the human aspects of their clinical practice. We are working with the Colleges and other professional bodies to develop a new curriculum specifically for CME. Students may receive formal CME accreditation for taking medical humanities units or courses.
