The Star Album
Background
The Star Album was rescued from a rubbish tip in Sydney and still bares the marks of its near demise. All of the albumen prints in the book have now been copy printed due to its fragile condition. The first great Melbourne Exhibition is covered in detail with around 50 images of the displays inside the exhibition building. There are also a number of pictures of the Temura gold field and Lord Howe Island dating from c1885.
