From 2001 artist Robyn Stacey photographed the vast natural history holdings of the Macleay Museum at the University of Sydney and Elizabeth Bay House. Stacey's pictorially sumptuous photographic images investigate each specimen's material presence. Now with author Ashley Hay, Stacey has brought this work together for the Cambridge University Press publication Museum: the Macleays, their collection and the search for order (2007). Museum celebrates the publication with an exhibition of Stacey's images, Ashley Hay's words and the Macleay family's collections.
